As a Water/Wastewater Lead Design Engineer, you will lead in assessment, design and plan production for water/wastewater and/or stormwater projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline
- 10 to 15 years of relevant post-education experience in water/wastewater engineering and/or water resources
- PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- CADD production and civil design software skills (MicroStation Power InRoads/OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D)
- Civil 3D pipe network and/or pressure network experience is a plus
- Hydraulic Design for pipe and channels
- Design of water, wastewater, or stormwater pump station facilities
- Water/wastewater treatment plant design experience
- Water /wastewater process modeling experience
- Knowledge of GIS software and applications (e.g., Arc GIS, etc.)
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with some supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution
- Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
