Job Description
xAI is seeking a passionate and creative Member of Technical Staff to drive the evolution of their AI models’ reasoning capabilities. This role involves refining pre-trained models through post-training approaches, brainstorming new techniques, and collaborating to turn innovative ideas into impactful enhancements. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, inquisitive, and comfortable taking challenges with a willingness to be experimental. Collaboration and proactive problem-solving are key. The role is focused on improving the reasoning capabilities of AI systems without deep initial training phases.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with post-training techniques (e.g., RLHF, DPO, or alignment methods)
- Proven ingenuity in solving ambiguous AI challenges
- Proficiency in engineering tools (e.g., Python, PyTorch)
- Background in AI development with emphasis on reasoning, logic, or cognitive science
- 3+ years in multifaceted AI roles at cutting-edge organizations
