Job Description
xAI is seeking a Rust/C++ Backend Engineer to contribute to the backend services powering their API. The team is small and focused on high-quality engineering, emphasizing speed, scalability, and reliability. They operate with a flat organization and expect hands-on contributions. The role involves writing reliable distributed systems, operating databases like PostgreSQL, and collaborating with other engineers.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of either Rust or C++,
- Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable and horizontally scalable distributed systems
- Knowledge of service observability and reliability best practices
- Experience in operating commonly used databases such as PostgreSQL, Clickhouse, and CockroachDB
- Python
- Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications
- TypeScript
- gRPC (unary, response streaming, bi-directional streaming, REST mapping)
