Youth Care Specialist - 3rd Shift

The Youth Care Specialist (YCS) provides physical and emotional care to clients, overseeing their safety and well-being within a trauma-informed care framework. This role involves providing basic needs, medical, and emotional support, assisting clients in achieving goals and strengthening their families. The YCS works collaboratively with clients, families, and other support systems.

Requirements

• Valid Texas driver’s license within 90 days of establishing Texas residency
• High school diploma or GED
• Bachelor’s degree in a human service field (preferred)
• Six months of direct care and positive guidance experience (preferred)
• Effective listening and communication skills
• Understanding of children, youth, and families in crisis
• Trauma-Informed Care approach
• Cultural and human diversity
• Applied human development (including, but not limited to, understanding developmental needs)
• Working in other units as needed at the direction of the supervisor or on call
