Manager, Project ECI

Aecon is seeking a Project Manager to lead large-scale, complex transmission line, substation, or linear infrastructure projects from development through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close out. The ideal candidate has experience executing major capital projects, strong commercial and technical acumen, and a collaborative leadership style.

Requirements

• Education to include Engineering, Construction Project Management etc. or combination of technical training and/or related experience.
• 10–15+ years of progressive project management experience in major capital projects, ideally in transmission, substations, linear infrastructure, utilities, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams delivering projects $100M+ in value.
• Strong understanding of transmission engineering, construction methods, environmental permitting, right of way acquisition, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing EPC/EPCM contractors, engineering consultants, and large procurement programs.
• Engineering Degree, PMP, P.Eng., or equivalent designations are strong assets.
• Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents.
• Proven leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to resolve project disputes with minimal assistance.
• Inspire and foster an environment of cooperation between different departments and co-workers.
• Availability to travel when running projects, including shift work.
• Sound computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and MS Project.
• Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, accurately, and under pressure.
• Ability to think proactively, work with urgency, be collaborative, and work independently.
• Take directions well, requiring minimal follow-up.
