We're looking for an Onboard Installation Mechanical Technician to join our team in Whitby, ON. As a full-time employee, you'll play a key role in ensuring and performing the installation, wiring test, and resolution of electrical faults in high and low-voltage systems. You'll work closely with teams across the business, ensure compliance with safety standards, and provide proactive suggestions for process improvements.
Requirements
- Technical High-School Diploma
- Experience in railway, transit, or heavy vehicle mechanical systems preferred
- Familiarity with mechanical standards such as AAR, EN12663, and IEC 61373 is an asset
- Experience in Special Processes such as Riveting, Torque Tightning (Welding is a plus)
- Experience with pneumatic systems, brake valves, and pressure switches
- Understanding of railway maintenance facilities, rolling stock assembly, or similar industrial settings
- Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Skilled trade certification from Ontario (desirable)
- Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams
