Job Description
Amca is building airplanes for the 21st century, starting by designing new hardware that flies on today’s planes. The Master Toolmaker will work with engineers to develop tools and small run production parts that rapidly convert design ideas into prototypes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in toolmaking
- 5+ years of experience in machining, with a focus on aerospace or high-precision components
- Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, HyperMILL, or Esprit) and 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX)
- Deep understanding of G-code, M-code, and CNC program editing
- Ability to use and learn a variety of software to observe, analyze, evaluate, and communicate pertinent information
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and tolerance stack-ups
- Hands-on experience with precision inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, CMMs)
- Preferred experience: machining injection mold tooling, including wire and die sinking EDM
