Production Equipment Engineer

American Battery Technology Company is seeking an Equipment Engineer to sustain and improve the operations of their lithium-ion battery recycling processes at their Pilot Plant in Sparks, Nevada. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining industrial equipment, implementing process improvement projects, and collaborating with engineering and external teams to enhance OEE and circular economy practices. This position is crucial for the successful operation of the facility and the manufacturing of commercial-scale battery metals.

Requirements

• Sustain 24/7 production operations by responding and recovering to down equipment.
• Support commissioning activities of future expansion plans for the first-in-kind battery recycling process.
• Implement process improvement projects to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Support PLC and SCADA development teams throughout the lifecycle of a project by updating, troubleshooting, and maintaining IEC-61131 complaint PLC programming languages and SCADA software.
• Work with the operations team to author documentation.
• Troubleshoot down equipment and implement solutions to address root cause (Conveyors, Motors, Pumps, Valves etc.).
• Produce mechanical design, manufacturing concept drawings and layouts in AutoCAD.
• Iterate on technical improvements to novel processing steps for extracting high purity battery materials.
• Review and update document records for the equipment systems.
