Job Description
Abaco Systems, part of the AMETEK Aerospace & Defense division, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of rugged embedded computing systems for extreme environments. The role focuses on mechanical innovation, thermal and structural performance, and lifecycle support for products used in military and aerospace applications. Strong skills in CAD modeling, simulation tools, and compliance with industry standards are essential.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- 4–7+ years of mechanical design experience in a rugged or aerospace environment
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo)
- Strong understanding of materials science, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics
- Experience with airflow-through and liquid cooling (desirable)
