Job Description
Applied Physics is seeking a motivated Machine Learning Specialist to join their Advanced Propulsion Laboratory at Applied Physics. The role involves research, algorithm implementation and validation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Publication of research results is also expected.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Computational Engineering, Applied Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
- Knowledge of or experience in deep learning, representation learning, zero/few-shot learning, active learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, ensemble methods, statistical modeling, and inference (e.g., probabilistic graphical models, Gaussian processes, or nonparametric Bayesian methods)
- Experience with Python, Java, Scala, or C/C++
- Proficiency in PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, or Caffe
- Ability to work on original research and present findings in peer-reviewed publications
- Strong communication skills
