Job Description
The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a Middle School Religion Teacher to lead students in deepening their understanding of the Catholic faith, scripture, sacraments, and Catholic traditions. This role involves fostering a faith-based classroom environment, preparing students for sacraments, integrating faith into daily lessons, and collaborating with school faculty. The school serves over 50,000 students across 11 counties and has a rich history rooted in faith and values.
Requirements
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Education, or a related field; teaching certification preferred
- Catechist certification through the Archdiocese of St. Louis or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience teaching religion or working in a Catholic school setting is strongly preferred
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills
- Passion for working with children and helping them grow in faith, character, and academics
- Completion of Archdiocese of St. Louis Safe Environment requirements, including background check
