The Instructional Aide assists students with special needs in a classroom setting, providing support and accommodations as outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). They work under the direction of Special Education teachers and other staff to implement IEPs and behavior intervention plans. The role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to inclusion and equity.
Requirements
- Knowledge of child cognitive development and different learning styles
- Familiarity with students that demonstrate extensive needs
- Ability and willingness to implement students' individualized education programs
- Ability and willingness to reflect and improve on practice
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing conditions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
