Housing Specialist (less than 20 hours/week)

Next Step is a community-based case management and stabilization program serving young adults aged 18-24 in Geauga and Portage Counties, facing hardship such as abuse, neglect, or homelessness. The Housing Specialist position offers weekend coverage for 24-7 facility, assisting clients with stable housing, life skills training, and resource provision. This is a non-competitive position, with no more than 20 hours/week.

Requirements

• Completes client intakes; assists in meeting resident needs; provides crisis intervention as appropriate.
• Assures policies and procedures are followed.
• Arrives 15 minutes prior to start of shift to facilitate communication during shift change.
• Completes proper documentation and reporting procedures.
• Attends monthly staff meetings and other pertinent meetings.
• Identifies and reports problems or unmet needs.
• Complies with agency policies and procedures.
• CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
