Laborer-Utility

A quarry utility worker performs diverse tasks, operating light and heavy equipment, loading and transporting materials, and conducting routine maintenance on machinery and facilities to support quarry operations.

Requirements

• Physical ability to climb, lift, bend, and work in diverse outdoor conditions
• Comfortable working at heights and in water or wet environments
• Adaptable and willing to learn and expand skill set through cross-training in other maintenance tasks and roles
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and safe operations
• Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Assist with Plant Maintenance and clean coal from barges
• Be willing to learn to operate other mobile and crushing equipment on-site and other forms of equipment as well as other tasks associated with mining operation
• Familiarity with heavy machinery, industrial maintenance or public works can be beneficial, but not required
• Obtaining and maintaining MSHA training for working in quarry/open pit environment
• Be able to demonstrate basic controls and safe operation of equipment
• Perform work site inspections prior to and after work is completed
• Work safely with other team members and ability to recognize and report hazards
