Senior Legal Counsel

Bitvavo is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join its team in Amsterdam, responsible for shaping the company's legal foundations as it continues to grow. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Dutch employment law, corporate governance, and M&A, with a strong generalist knowledge of corporate housekeeping and governance frameworks. The role involves leading on people-related legal matters, overseeing corporate housekeeping and governance, and managing complex employee cases.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Dutch Law (LL.M), with a focus on Employment or Corporate Law preferred
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a top-tier law firm or dynamic in-house legal environment
• Deep expertise in Dutch employment law and a proven track record of handling complex legal HR matters
• Strong generalist knowledge of corporate housekeeping, governance frameworks, and M&A processes
• Fluent in both Dutch and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages
• A proactive, pragmatic mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment
• A collaborative, ethical approach with a strong sense of ownership and alignment with Bitvavo’s values
