Assistant General Counsel - County Judge - 1

The Assistant General Counsel will provide legal support to the Commissioner’s Court, county officials, and various departments. This includes advising on civil and criminal legal matters, representing the County in court, and conducting legal research. The role requires preparing and interpreting legal documents, identifying parties to litigation, and securing discovery.

Requirements

• Advise on civil legal matters, including economic development, labor matters, subdivision regulations, tax matters, open records, conflicts of interest, land interests, federal and local regulations, grants, interlocal agreements, bid proposals, construction, corporate formation, and constitutional claims.
• Represent the County and its employees in court.
• Prepare and interpret contracts.
• Perform legal work including legal research and drafting pleadings.
• Supervision of general counsel.
