Job Description
Cape is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Manager) to lead backend engineering teams building distributed, cloud-native systems and user-facing product features. The role involves technical leadership, mentorship, driving technical and people strategy, and collaborating with Product and Design to deliver scalable features. Cape is a privacy-centric cellular service provider backed by Andreessen Horowitz, focused on regaining control of user data and building a team of relentless builders.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience leading software engineering teams, including managing managers
- Deep experience building, deploying, and maintaining microservices in production
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems design, cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proven success in leading teams that have shipped complex, end-to-end product features
- Effective working closely with Product, Design, Security, and other Engineering Leads
