Job Description
The Instrument Processing Technician works under the direction of the Sterile Processing Manager to maintain the safety and sterility of instruments and patient equipment. Responsibilities include instrument loading/unloading, sterilization, decontamination, inspection, and instrument assembly. The role involves ensuring all procedures are performed correctly and consistently.
Requirements
- High school diploma/equivalent
- Associate degree program or higher
- Prior experience as a central service technician in a sterile processing department
- Successful completion of sterilization, decontamination, and instrumentation competencies within 6 months of hire
