Job Description
This Junior Food Buyer role within a growing food company in College Point, NY, involves the procurement, management, and analysis of product inventory to meet forecasted demand and ensure timely delivery. The position requires collaboration with procurement, purchasing, and merchandising teams, as well as maintaining accurate records and resolving issues. Remote access and online purchase system are utilized.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of buying experience in any category
- Marketing/Logistics experience preferred or strong understanding of store operations
- Understanding of grocery procurement, logistics, inventory management, marketing, accounting and financial management practices
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Strong computer aptitude in MS Office including Word and Excel
- Ability to plan and organize effectively
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills for business relationships
