Job Description
The Bronx Community Justice Center (BxCJC) is seeking a Program Manager, Social Work to manage therapeutic services, support groups, and community projects in the South Bronx. This role will supervise a team, develop community practices, and provide individual and group counseling to young people impacted by violence. The BxCJC is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing community safety and racial justice.
Requirements
- LMSW and a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in community-based individual support settings
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
- SIFI certified or eligible
- Commitment to anti-oppressive practice
- Commitment to youth-led practice
- Extremely punctual and reliable
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to work evenings & weekends
- Knowledge of youth engagement, victimization, community violence
- Understanding of the criminal justice system
- Understanding of Cure Violence projects desirable
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with individual case management and counseling
- Understanding of complex trauma reactions
- Experience working with youth and families from marginalized communities
