Job Description
The City and County of Denver is seeking an Equipment Operator I - Street Maintenance to join the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI). The successful candidate will work in the field throughout the City and County of Denver, operating light to medium sized equipment for maintenance and minor construction projects. The ideal candidate has some or all of the following experience, skills, and characteristics: knowledge of city of Denver streets/alleys and use of maps, previous experience with street maintenance, and other labor-related tasks, experience working in various weather conditions and environments.
Requirements
- Knowledge of city of Denver streets/alleys and use of maps
- Previous experience with street maintenance, and other labor-related tasks
- Experience working in various weather conditions (snow, rain, heat, etc.) and environments (dust, fumes, etc.)
- Desire to promote to other positions within the department
- Commercial drivers must be able to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, make entries on reports and records in English
