2026 Police Officer

The Marietta Police Department is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join its team as Police Officers. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining public safety and security, enforcing laws, and responding to emergency situations. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Requirements

• Must be at least 19 3/4 years of age at time of written exam and a U.S. citizen
• High school diploma or GED
• Must be fluent in the English language
• Must pass a written entry examination, background investigation, and oral examination, polygraph examination, and drug screen
• Must obtain a Georgia Peace Officer Standard Training certification (POST) by the end of working test period and maintain certification annually
• Must achieve and maintain certification in the use of firearms
• Must be free of any felony convictions, domestic violence convictions, or sufficient misdemeanor convictions to evidence a pattern
• Must be of good habits and moral character
