The 2025 Police Officer position is an entry-level rank in the Marietta Police force that includes both non-certified and certified officers. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 19 3/4 years of age at time of written exam and a U.S. citizen
- Must be fluent in the English language
- Must pass a written entry examination, background investigation, and oral examination, polygraph examination, and drug screen
- Must obtain a Georgia Peace Officer Standard Training certification (POST) by the end of working test period and maintain certification annually
- Must achieve and maintain certification in the use of firearms
- Must be free of any felony convictions, domestic violence convictions, or sufficient misdemeanor convictions to evidence a pattern
