Clark County is a leading local government entity that administers services for 2.4 million residents and 43 million visitors in a jurisdiction the size of New Jersey, including the world‑famous Las Vegas Strip. Its core responsibilities span public safety, infrastructure, environmental compliance, and social services, and it operates the state’s largest public hospital, University Medical Center, and the nation’s 7th‑busiest airport. Clark County also delivers municipal functions—fire protection, road maintenance, parks and recreation, and planning—to an unincorporated population of about one million residents. The county’s commitment to integrity, respect, and accountability, combined with its scale and the complexity of serving a high‑traffic tourism hub, makes it a distinctive and influential player in local government.
