The Patient Care Technician provides direct, non-invasive bedside care to patients, prioritizing and delivering basic patient care, including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc.

Requirements

• Prioritize and deliver basic patient care
• Perform and document vital signs, measures and records intake and output, weights, specimen collections, etc.
• Transfer patients utilizing proper body mechanics and safe patient handling techniques
• Report any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient to appropriate nursing personnel
• Maintain a physical, social, and psychological environment conducive to providing maximal patient comfort and optimizing healing
• Respond to patient and family calls and requests
• Designate applicable charges to individual patients using hospital’s established system
• Assess environmental risks for safety and implement appropriate precautions
• Comply with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards
