General Counsel, Financial Services

We are seeking a General Counsel to lead our legal function and enterprise compliance program. This role will be the company’s chief legal officer and compliance architect, serving as a trusted advisor to the executive team and board on navigating the regulatory landscape of blockchain-enabled financial services. The role involves legal guidance, contract management, compliance oversight, and policy development.

Requirements

• . Legal Qualification: Admitted legal practitioner with a current Australian practising certificate
• . Experience: Over 10 years of experience in legal and compliance roles within the regulated financial services sector.
• . AML/CTF Expertise: Hands-on experience in designing and managing AML/CTF compliance programs.
• . Regulatory Knowledge: A strong grasp of the ASIC, AUSTRAC, and APRA frameworks.
• . Digital Assets: Familiarity with cryptocurrency regulations, blockchain operations, and compliance requirements for digital assets
• . Leadership: Proven background as General Counsel, Head of Legal/Compliance, or in a senior counsel role within fintech or financial services.
