Job Description
CompScience is a high-growth startup on a mission to prevent workplace injuries through technological innovations, hiring a Senior Vice President of Underwriting to own portfolio performance across Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Property, with responsibilities including defining underwriting appetite, pricing, and coverage standards, and partnering with data and product teams to test new underwriting signals.
Requirements
- 10–15+ years underwriting experience
- Deep Workers’ Compensation expertise
- Senior underwriting leadership experience in an MGA, program, or high-growth carrier environment
- Demonstrated track record of improving loss ratio while supporting aggressive growth
- Experience operationalizing data- or technology-driven underwriting insights
- Strong underwriting judgment and comfort making decisions with incomplete data
