Job Description
The job is a Refuse Collection Driver position with a salary of $20.00/hour. The position is responsible for driving a heavy truck and collecting, transporting, and depositing solid waste.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 24 months prior experience operating light to medium duty trucks and banding equipment
- Knowledge of State and City traffic regulations and geography
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Math skills to record quantities, weights, and other numeric data
- English language skills to write and convey daily operations information
- Human relations skills to work cooperatively with peers and project a positive image
- Ability to follow specified routes, work schedules, and observe safe work practices
- Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical problems associated with trucks and equipment
- Ability to work with and around unpleasant waste materials
