Job Description
Performs driving and manual work in the collection, transport, and deposition of solid waste, driving a specialized heavy truck with standard and automated loading capacity or other vehicle used in collecting garbage, refuse, and recyclables.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Twenty-four (24) months prior experience operating light to medium duty trucks and banding equipment
- Working knowledge of refuse collection truck operation and hydraulic equipment
- Knowledge of State and City traffic regulations and geography and street systems
- Math skills to record quantities, weights, and other numeric
- English language skills to write and convey daily operations information
- Human relations skills to work cooperatively with peers and project a positive image
- Ability to follow specified routes, work varied schedules, and observe safe work practices
