Job Description
The Computational Scientist - Single-Cell Algorithms position at PTI aims to develop mass spectrometry-based proteomics pipelines for neurodegenerative diseases. The role involves analyzing mass spectrometry data to infer biological mechanisms in the Alzheimer’s Disease and Immuno-Proteome Aging projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a highly interdisciplinary environment.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a related field (Statistics, Mathematics, Bioengineering, Computer Science, etc.)
- Professional or PhD experience working with biologists on single-cell omics questions
- Strong understanding of generalized linear models, nonparametric regression, hypothesis testing, and optimization.
- Advanced proficiency in R and/or Python
- Demonstrable experience with data set alignment, batch correction, cell type assignment, and differential abundance testing
- Demonstrable experience with model validation
