Job Description
Parkwest Medical Center is seeking a PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT to join their heart care team in Knoxville, TN. This full-time, 72-hour-per-pay-period position involves hands-on patient care, assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), and supporting patients in a step-down unit. The role offers a welcoming team environment and opportunities for growth.
Requirements
- Take and record temperatures, pulse, respiration rates, blood pressures, weights, heights, and intake-output measurements.
- Encourage patients to turn, cough, and take deep breaths and use incentive spirometry as specified by Plan of Care.
- Assist patients in and out of bed, into wheelchairs and transport when necessary.
- Attends to nutritional needs and assist with meal trays, feeding, and other supportive care.
- Practice phlebotomy and other laboratory tests.
- Follow infection control policies and maintain a clean environment.
- Maintain accurate patient record-keeping.
