Job Description
Parkwest Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for Cardiac Specialty Unit. This full-time, night shift position (72 hours/pay period) involves hands-on patient care, assisting nurses with ADLs, and ensuring a safe environment. The role requires a commitment to teamwork and quality improvement, and involves performing tasks on the Nursing Assistant checklist.
Requirements
- Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration rates, blood pressures, weights, heights, and intake-output measurements.
- Encourage patients to turn, cough, and take deep breaths and use incentive spirometry.
- Ambulate, assist patients in and out of bed, into wheelchairs and transport when necessary.
- Attends to nutritional needs of patient.
- Perform tasks such as ROM, assist with ambulatory devices, and perform PHLEBOTOMY (requires additional training).
