Domtar is seeking a Wood Procurement/Operations Forester to assist the team in meeting department objectives in health and safety, performance, environmental compliance, and cost while managing processes to enhance wood quality. The successful candidate will have experience in wood procurement, wood quality, market conditions, forest management, and safety-oriented mindset.
Requirements
- Degree in forestry or related field
- Registered Forester status
- Knowledge of wood procurement, wood quality, market conditions, forest management, landowner concerns, wood price structures, logging costs, wood supplier issues
- Strong computer skills including ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products
- Previous experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management and understanding of financial and accounting practices
- Ability to build good business relationships with a wide range of individuals
- Highly motivated, results oriented, driven
- Critical thinker/problem solver
- Valid driver’s license along with a safe driving record
