Behavioral Health Tech

Provides care to patients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment. Assists patients with activities of daily living; attends to patient behavioral problems and provides assistance in crisis intervention, as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Additional training as a Behavioral Health Tech (BHT) is preferred
• Minimum of 2 years' experience with chemical dependency and/or dual diagnosed clients, preferably in an out-patient setting
• Maintains current CPR certification and all necessary trainings
• Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards
• Knowledge of Detox and Substance Abuse
• Demonstrated Proficiency in Verbal and in Written Communication Skills
• Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality Laws
• Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies
• Knowledge of Workplace Violence Prevention
• Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Compliance Program
• Knowledge of Safety Management/Infection/Risk Management
• Proficient in all areas of personnel management
• Familiar with community resources
