Advanced Practice Provider II – (Nurse Practitioner II or Physician Assistant II)

This position is a Physician Assistant II working under the guidance of a Psychiatrist and an Emergency Department psychiatrist. The role involves providing comprehensive evaluations to patients and performing duties assigned by the EVMS Department of Psychiatry, expanding capacity for new patient care. The role requires utilizing DSM5 principles.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed PA by the Virginia Board of Medicine and a certified physician assistant by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Demonstrates sufficient knowledge of psychiatry to perform a complete mental status exam
• US citizenship and a valid driver’s license
