Job Description
This PRN/Casual Patient Access Specialist position provides support to the Admissions department for patients arriving at McCandless, PA Hospital. The role involves verifying patient identification, collecting information, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and EMTALA. It focuses on maximizing hospital reimbursement through accurate billing and streamlined processing.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification experience
- Knowledge of various insurance plans (HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid)
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Excellent customer service
- Working knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Fluency in English (especially in Spanish)
