Archaeological Crew Chief

As an Archaeological Crew Chief, you'll lead field crews and ensure the quality and integrity of archaeological data collection. You'll be responsible for supervising fieldwork, managing logistics, and maintaining safety standards while contributing to meaningful research and documentation.

Requirements

• Supervise and lead field crews during archaeological surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring.
• Ensure data quality through daily QA/QC of field notes, forms, and artifact records.
• Collect and manage data using traditional and digital methods (GPS, tablets, specialized software).
• Manage project logistics including equipment preparation, maintenance, and scheduling.
• Ensure safety by developing safety plans and identifying potential hazards.
• Handle documentation and research including site forms, maps, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders such as project managers, landowners, clients, and agency staff.
