Field Service Technician responsible for installation, commissioning, and service on products serviced by Fairbanks Morse Defense. Must establish and maintain excellent rapport with customers, co-workers, and others. Requires reliable team player with professional demeanor, knowledge of diesel and spark gas engine test equipment and theory, and ability to troubleshoot independently.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One or more of the following: Associate degree in technical discipline and four years of military or relevant industry experience, Four years of military or relevant industry experience in similar or equivalent product lines serviced by FMD
- Additional Requirements: Reliable team player with professional demeanor, Knowledge of diesel and spark gas engine test equipment and theory (preferred), Basic understanding of gas compression and associated hazards (preferred), Ability to read and interpret product line diagrams and blueprints, Foundation in pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, and electronic controls (preferred), Ability to troubleshoot independently and restore equipment to full operation, Strong written and verbal communication skills, Excellent organization and planning skills, Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Strong mechanical aptitude, Valid driver’s license and eligibility for company credit card, Ability to travel up to 75% (domestic and international, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and emergency callouts), Must hold a valid U.S. Passport or be able to obtain one within 3 months of hire, Must meet NOFORN requirements for access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information — proof of U.S. Citizenship required (U.S. Passport, Birth Certificate, or Naturalization Certificate)
