Job Description
The Social Studies Teacher will engage students in critical thinking, civic awareness, and historical analysis while fostering a deeper understanding of local, national, and global perspectives. The teacher will plan and implement lessons that align with curriculum and standards, use primary and secondary sources, and promote respectful, engaging classroom discussions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in History, Social Studies Education, or related field
- Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Social Studies (Grades 9–12)
- Knowledge of US and World History content, primary source analysis, and historical thinking skills
- Familiarity with NJSLS and instructional technology
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience teaching high school social studies preferred
