Staff Mechanical Engineer, Structures Design

Form Energy is a manufacturing and energy technology company that is revolutionizing energy storage with cost-effective, multi-day technology. The company is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to join its team and lead design efforts for crucial parts of its iron-air battery integrated structures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 10+ years of industry experience in mechanical design, or Master's with 8+ years of industry experience
• Experience leading design work for complex mechanical systems and structural design
• Proficiency in CAD, specifically SolidWorks modeling and drafting using GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Proficient in component design for mass manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), especially sheet metal, stampings, weldments and extruded components
• Proficient with prototyping techniques and working in a machine shop environment
• Familiarity with mechanical verification testing
• Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems, power electronics, or batteries is a plus
