Django Backend Engineer

Fusemachines is seeking a Django Backend Engineer to join their team. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining efficient Python code for Django application, interacting with PostgreSQL databases, and working with various services and systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Web Developer
• Expert-level proficiency in Python 3.12
• Deep expertise with the Django framework
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and management
• Hands-on experience with Redis and AWS S3
• Proficient in implementing and managing various authentication systems
• Experience with Temporal or other workflow orchestration systems is highly desirable
• Solid understanding of the Django ORM
• Prior experience in logistics and supply chain projects is a significant plus
• Proven ability to work asynchronously with minimal guidance and collaborate effectively with global teams
• Skilled in modern coding practices, including leveraging AI tools for optimal coding efficiency and experience working with Claude Code
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client interactions and deliver high-quality work under pressure
