Job Description
GHD is seeking a Lead - Hydropower & Pumped Hydro Energy Storage (PHES) to shape their growth in the United States. This role involves leading complex programs, collaborating with various stakeholders, and focusing on hydro refurbishment/modernization and closed-loop PHES. The ideal candidate will be a visible seller-doer with technical authority, capable of driving initiatives from concept through commissioning.
Requirements
- 15+ years in hydropower and/or PHES
- Project Director/Lead experience on complex hydro/PHES programs
- Proven business development skills with utilities and developers
- Understanding of permitting, funding, and off-take structures for long-duration storage
- Engineering degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, or related field
- P.Eng./PE license in relevant Canadian/US provinces/states
- Bilingual English/French ( Québec and Ontario)
- Commitment to HSE, quality, risk management, and design assurance
