The Supervisor of Fraud Operations is responsible for leading a team dedicated to protecting the credit union from fraudulent and AML-related risks. This role ensures effective oversight of daily operations, drives initiatives to identify and mitigate fraud, and fosters collaboration across departments to strengthen organizational resilience.
Requirements
- Supervise and provide daily oversight of Fraud Operations staff
- Coach, develop, and mentor team members
- Use quality monitoring and data management to track department and individual performance
- Handle escalations, exception items, and resolve complex issues
- Maintain ongoing working Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Fraud, AML/BSA, OFAC regulations, and economic sanctions
- Act as the FinCEN 314(b) contact for the credit union
- Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations pertinent to the role
- Actively identify and recommend continuous process improvements
- Own frontline processes and controls within scope
- Develop a thorough understanding of fraud-related data and create accurate reports and dashboards
- Identify market and typology trends and propose and help implement deterrence strategies to mitigate fraud loss
- Draft, update, and maintain procedures and job aids to ensure compliance and strengthen fraud management
- Foster a positive, engaging work environment
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal departments, other financial institutions, law enforcement, and vendors
- Contribute to short- and long-term planning by providing frontline insights, data, and recommendations to management
