KSBW 8 News, owned by Hearst Television, is seeking a high-energy Meteorologist to join their weather team in Salinas, CA, Monterey, CA, and potentially other locations. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for severe weather, strong science knowledge, and the ability to provide compelling weather updates across various platforms. This role involves forecasting, graphics creation, reporting, and community engagement.
Requirements
- Professional or schooling experience handling breaking news and severe weather coverage
- In-depth knowledge of weather science and forecasting
- Dynamic on-air presence
- Experience with live field reporting
- Knowledge of high-powered radar data interpretation
- Experience with common television weather systems
- Experience with live field reporting on weather and other topics
- NWA and CBM seals a plus
