Process Engineer

HF Sinclair is seeking a Process Engineer to conduct engineering assignments, work independently, and act as a resource for less experienced personnel. The position involves monitoring refinery process units, investigating malfunctions, and providing process optimization guidance.

Requirements

• Monitor and ensure performance of high complexity refinery process units
• Investigate and resolve process related malfunctions and anomalies
• Coordinate, facilitate, and document Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
• Own management of change (MOC) process for assigned units and divisions
• Provide process optimization guidance to ensure safety, guarantee environmental compliance, and maximize refinery profitability
• Create and maintain unit technical process standards documents, guidelines, and procedures
• Provide discipline specific engineering assistance, direction and mentoring to colleagues
• Support and provide technical oversight for capital project development
• Develops project scopes, estimate level budgets and funding requests for approval and ensures projects meet budget as well as company engineer practices and industry standards
• Provide economic analysis or process operation and drives cost saving and yield improvement initiatives
• Researches and stays abreast of assigned discipline subjects, innovations and leading edge developments
• Design plant equipment and processes
• Conduct research to develop new and improved product manufacturing processes
• Recommend and implement improvements and/or modification in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters
• Review proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernization of existing processing equipment
• Assist with clean fuel projects
• Design and build plant additions and modifications
• Act as a liaison between the company and county and state and/or other agencies
