The Adult Family Home Agency (AFHA) program provides a family-based alternative to traditional residential care by matching adults with developmental disabilities with trained Family Home Providers who offer a supportive home environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Experience in program coordination, service delivery, or program operations preferred
- Knowledge of California Regional Center systems and AFHA regulations strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with providers, participants, families, and community partners
- Ability to balance empathy with accountability in provider and participant support
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems
- Ability to exercise independent judgment within established program guidelines
- Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire
- Must receive criminal record clearance from DOJ
- Must comply with all mandated reporter requirements, including the immediate reporting of suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation in accordance with applicable federal and California state laws and Home of Guiding Hands policies
- Must have valid California Driver’s license, safe driving record, and have been licensed to drive at least 2 years
- Must maintain current and adequate auto insurance
