Registered Practical Nurse - Haemodialysis

Humber River Health is a digital hospital focused on providing high-quality patient care. They are seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to work in the Haemodialysis Unit and Nephrology Program within the Haemodialysis Unit. The role involves delivering chronic disease prevention and management (CDPM) support, integrating patient care, improving access to kidney care, and participating in quality assurance activities. The position is permanent and offered on a full-time basis.

Requirements

• Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program
• Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current BCLS certification
• Minimum one to two years acute care experience
• Minimum one to two years Hemodialysis experience
• Nephrology courses preferred or commitment to complete within an agreed period
• Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, blood transfusion, wound care dressing, medication administration, etc.
• Ability to prioritize and complete assignments in a reasonable length of time
• Demonstrated sound judgment, good observation and patient assessment skills, tact and empathy
• Demonstrated ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations
• Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the position
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Humber's comprehensive safety programs and practices
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills
