Job Description
IU Health is seeking a dedicated Infection Preventionist to oversee infection surveillance and control efforts. The role involves investigations, recommendations for preventative measures, staff education, and collaboration with regulatory bodies. This position focuses on High Level Disinfection and ensures compliance with health regulations.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in a healthcare-related field.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical procedures, microbiology, infectious disease, and epidemiology.
- 3-5 years of experience in healthcare or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in infection control preferred.
- Knowledge of local, state, and national infection control regulations and standards.
- National certification in infection control (e.g., CIC) preferred within 3 years.
