Associate Systems Engineer

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to be part of their Integrated Mission Systems team, based out of San Diego, CA. The Associate Systems Engineer will support the deployment, integration, and sustainment of Linux- and Windows-based IT infrastructure for virtualized test environments. The role requires strong collaboration with engineering teams and hands-on technical execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Strong focus on IT infrastructure, systems integration, or enterprise computing environments
• Experience with Operating Systems (Windows and Linux) configuration and administration
• Experience with Virtualization Infrastructure, VMware and/or OpenShift Virtualization experience preferred
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• Willingness to learn and work within DoD or government environments and comply with security requirements
• Experience with Kubernetes clusters, including node management, networking, storage, and workload orchestration
• Understanding of protocols (TCP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, IP, HTTP)
• Experience with scripting (ex. Python, Bash, Powershell)
• Some experience with automation tools such as Jenkins and Ansible
