Job Description
Insight Housing provides housing, food, and support services to people in need. This on-call cook role supports the Meals Program, preparing and distributing nutritious meals to 32 and 12 bed men's and women's shelters, as well as residential programs. The cook assists with menu prep, inventory, and coordinating with program staff and residents.
Requirements
- Knowledge of food safety procedures and CA Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain it)
- Ability to complete CPR/First Aid Training
- At least one year of food prep or cooking experience in a restaurant or group setting
- Commitment to serving individuals experiencing homelessness
- Computer skills a plus
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable vehicle
